HOOK3-GTF2E2 Fusion FISH Probe
The HOOK3-GTF2E2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HOOK3 and GTF2E2 genes. The fusion of the HOOK3 and GTF2E2 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GTF2E2 Gene Summary
The general transcription factor IIE (TFIIE) is part of the RNA polymerase II transcription initiation complex, recruiting TFIIH and being essential for promoter clearance by RNA polymerase II. TFIIE is a heterodimer (and sometimes heterotetramer) of alpha and beta subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents the beta subunit of TFIIE. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Gene Name: General Transcription Factor IIE Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 30436030 -30515738
Locus: 8p12
HOOK3 Gene Summary
Hook proteins are cytosolic coiled-coil proteins that contain conserved N-terminal domains, which attach to microtubules, and more divergent C-terminal domains, which mediate binding to organelles. The Drosophila Hook protein is a component of the endocytic compartment.[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004]
Gene Name: Hook Microtubule Tethering Protein 3
Chromosome: CHR8: 42752032 -42885682
Locus: 8p11.21
