HOOK2-RTBDN Fusion FISH Probe
The HOOK2-RTBDN Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HOOK2 and RTBDN genes. The fusion of the HOOK2 and RTBDN genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HOOK2 Gene Summary
Hook proteins are cytosolic coiled-coil proteins that contain conserved N-terminal domains, which attach to microtubules, and more divergent C-terminal domains, which mediate binding to organelles. The Drosophila Hook protein is a component of the endocytic compartment.[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004]
Gene Name: Hook Microtubule Tethering Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR19: 12873816 -12886434
Locus: 19p13.13
RTBDN Gene Summary
This gene was first identified in a study of human eye tissues. The protein encoded by this gene is preferentially expressed in the retina and may play a role in binding retinoids and other carotenoids as it shares homology with riboflavin binding proteins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
Gene Name: Retbindin
Chromosome: CHR19: 12936295 -12946230
Locus: 19p13.13
