HNRNPA2B1-CANT1 Fusion FISH Probe
The HNRNPA2B1-CANT1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HNRNPA2B1 and CANT1 genes. The fusion of the HNRNPA2B1 and CANT1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HNRNPA2B1 Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the A/B subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). The hnRNPs are RNA binding proteins and they complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and appear to influence pre-mRNA processing and other aspects of mRNA metabolism and transport. While all of the hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some seem to shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The hnRNP proteins have distinct nucleic acid binding properties. The protein encoded by this gene has two repeats of quasi-RRM domains that bind to RNAs. This gene has been described to generate two alternatively spliced transcript variants which encode different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Heterogeneous Nuclear Ribonucleoprotein A2/B1
Chromosome: CHR7: 26229555 -26240413
Locus: 7p15.2
CANT1 Gene Summary
This protein encoded by this gene belongs to the apyrase family. It functions as a calcium-dependent nucleotidase with a preference for UDP. Mutations in this gene are associated with Desbuquois dysplasia with hand anomalies. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been noted for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
Gene Name: Calcium Activated Nucleotidase 1
Chromosome: CHR17: 76987797 -77005899
