HMGXB3-PPARGC1B Fusion FISH Probe
The HMGXB3-PPARGC1B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HMGXB3 and PPARGC1B genes. The fusion of the HMGXB3 and PPARGC1B genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HMGXB3 Gene Summary
This gene is one of the non-canonical high mobility group (HMG) genes. The encoded protein contains an HMG-box domain found in DNA binding proteins such as transcription factors and chromosomal proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: HMG-box Containing 3
Chromosome: CHR5: 149380168 -149432706
Locus: 5q32
PPARGC1B Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene stimulates the activity of several transcription factors and nuclear receptors, including estrogen receptor alpha, nuclear respiratory factor 1, and glucocorticoid receptor. The encoded protein may be involved in fat oxidation, non-oxidative glucose metabolism, and the regulation of energy expenditure. This protein is downregulated in prediabetic and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Certain allelic variations in this gene increase the risk of the development of obesity. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
Gene Name: PPARG Coactivator 1 Beta
Chromosome: CHR5: 149109814 -149234585
Locus: 5q32
