HIVEP2-MAP7 Fusion FISH Probe
The HIVEP2-MAP7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HIVEP2 and MAP7 genes. The fusion of the HIVEP2 and MAP7 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HIVEP2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of a family of closely related, large, zinc finger-containing transcription factors. The encoded protein regulates transcription by binding to regulatory regions of various cellular and viral genes that maybe involved in growth, development and metastasis. The protein contains the ZAS domain comprised of two widely separated regions of zinc finger motifs, a stretch of highly acidic amino acids and a serine/threonine-rich sequence. Gene Name: Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type I Enhancer Binding Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 143072603 -143266338
Locus: 6q24.2
MAP7 Gene Summary
The product of this gene is a microtubule-associated protein that is predominantly expressed in cells of epithelial origin. Microtubule-associated proteins are thought to be involved in microtubule dynamics, which is essential for cell polarization and differentiation. This protein has been shown to be able to stabilize microtubules, and may serve to modulate microtubule functions. Studies of the related mouse protein also suggested an essential role in microtubule function required for spermatogenesis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]
Gene Name: Microtubule Associated Protein 7
Chromosome: CHR6: 136663418 -136871957
Locus: 6q23.3
