HGS-GNAO1 Fusion FISH Probe
The HGS-GNAO1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HGS and GNAO1 genes. The fusion of the HGS and GNAO1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GNAO1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene represents the alpha subunit of the Go heterotrimeric G-protein signal-transducing complex. Defects in this gene are a cause of early-onset epileptic encephalopathy. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]
Gene Name: G Protein Subunit Alpha O1
Chromosome: CHR16: 56225250 -56391356
Locus: 16q13
HGS Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene regulates endosomal sorting and plays a critical role in the recycling and degradation of membrane receptors. The encoded protein sorts monoubiquitinated membrane proteins into the multivesicular body, targeting these proteins for lysosome-dependent degradation. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Name: Hepatocyte Growth Factor-regulated Tyrosine Kinase Substrate
Chromosome: CHR17: 79650961 -79669151
Locus: 17q25.3
