HELZ-TTYH2 Fusion FISH Probe
The HELZ-TTYH2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HELZ and TTYH2 genes. The fusion of the HELZ and TTYH2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HELZ Gene Summary
HELZ is a member of the superfamily I class of RNA helicases. RNA helicases alter the conformation of RNA by unwinding double-stranded regions, thereby altering the biologic activity of the RNA molecule and regulating access to other proteins (Wagner et al., 1999 [PubMed 10471385]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Helicase With Zinc Finger
Chromosome: CHR17: 65066553 -65241319
Locus: 17q24.2
TTYH2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the tweety family of proteins. Members of this family function as chloride anion channels. The encoded protein functions as a calcium(2+)-activated large conductance chloride(-) channel, and may play a role in kidney tumorigenesis. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Tweety Family Member 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 72209695 -72258157
Locus: 17q25.1
