HELZ-CACNG4 Fusion FISH Probe
The HELZ-CACNG4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HELZ and CACNG4 genes. The fusion of the HELZ and CACNG4 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

HELZ Gene Summary
HELZ is a member of the superfamily I class of RNA helicases. RNA helicases alter the conformation of RNA by unwinding double-stranded regions, thereby altering the biologic activity of the RNA molecule and regulating access to other proteins (Wagner et al., 1999 [PubMed 10471385]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Helicase With Zinc Finger
Chromosome: CHR17: 65066553 -65241319
Locus: 17q24.2
CACNG4 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory protein (TARP). TARPs regulate both trafficking and channel gating of the AMPA receptors. This gene is part of a functionally diverse eight-member protein subfamily of the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family and is located in a cluster with two family members, a type II TARP and a calcium channel gamma subunit. Gene Name: Calcium Voltage-gated Channel Auxiliary Subunit Gamma 4
Chromosome: CHR17: 64960979 -65029518
Locus: 17q24.2
