HADH-ZP2 Fusion FISH Probe
The HADH-ZP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the HADH and ZP2 genes. The fusion of the HADH and ZP2 genes has been associated with Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

HADH Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase gene family. The encoded protein functions in the mitochondrial matrix to catalyze the oxidation of straight-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoAs as part of the beta-oxidation pathway. Its enzymatic activity is highest with medium-chain-length fatty acids. Mutations in this gene cause one form of familial hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia. The human genome contains a related pseudogene of this gene on chromosome 15. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Hydroxyacyl-CoA Dehydrogenase
Chromosome: CHR4: 108910869 -108956331
Locus: 4q25
ZP2 Gene Summary
The zona pellucida is an extracellular matrix that surrounds the oocyte and early embryo. It is composed of three glycoproteins with various functions during fertilization and preimplantation development. The glycosylated mature peptide is one of the structural components of the zona pellucida and functions in secondary binding and penetration of acrosome-reacted spermatozoa. Female mice lacking this gene do not form a stable zona matrix and are sterile. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]
Gene Name: Zona Pellucida Glycoprotein 2
Chromosome: CHR16: 21208772 -21222868
Locus: 16p12.3-p12.2
