GXYLT2-VAV1 Fusion FISH Probe
The GXYLT2-VAV1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GXYLT2 and VAV1 genes. The fusion of the GXYLT2 and VAV1 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

VAV1 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the VAV gene family. The VAV proteins are guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases that activate pathways leading to actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional alterations. The encoded protein is important in hematopoiesis, playing a role in T-cell and B-cell development and activation. The encoded protein has been identified as the specific binding partner of Nef proteins from HIV-1. Coexpression and binding of these partners initiates profound morphological changes, cytoskeletal rearrangements and the JNK/SAPK signaling cascade, leading to increased levels of viral transcription and replication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]
Gene Name: Vav Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR19: 6772721 -6857371
Locus: 19p13.3
GXYLT2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a xylosyltransferase that elongates O-linked glucose bound to epidermal growth factor (EGF) repeats. The encoded protein catalyzes the addition of xylose to the O-glucose-modified residues of EGF repeats of Notch proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: Glucoside Xylosyltransferase 2
