GULP1-KCNJ13 Fusion FISH Probe

The GULP1-KCNJ13 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GULP1 and KCNJ13 genes. The fusion of the GULP1 and KCNJ13 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

KCNJ13 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the inwardly rectifying potassium channel family of proteins. Members of this family form ion channel pores that allow potassium ions to pass into a cell. The encoded protein belongs to a subfamily of low signal channel conductance proteins that have a low dependence on potassium concentration. Mutations in this gene are associated with snowflake vitreoretinal degeneration. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]

Gene Name: Potassium Voltage-gated Channel Subfamily J Member 13

Chromosome: CHR2: 233630511 -233641275

Locus: 2q37.1

GULP1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is an adapter protein necessary for the engulfment of apoptotic cells by phagocytes. Several transcript variants, some protein coding and some thought not to be protein coding, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]

Gene Name: GULP, Engulfment Adaptor PTB Domain Containing 1
