GUCY2C-ART4 Fusion FISH Probe
The GUCY2C-ART4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GUCY2C and ART4 genes. The fusion of the GUCY2C and ART4 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ART4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that contains a mono-ADP-ribosylation (ART) motif. It is a member of the ADP-ribosyltransferase gene family but enzymatic activity has not been demonstrated experimentally. Antigens of the Dombrock blood group system are located on the gene product, which is glycosylphosphatidylinosotol-anchored to the erythrocyte membrane. Allelic variants, some of which lead to adverse transfusion reactions, are known. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: ADP-ribosyltransferase 4 (Dombrock Blood Group)
Chromosome: CHR12: 14982244 -14996413
Locus: 12p12.3
GUCY2C Gene Summary
This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that functions as a receptor for endogenous peptides guanylin and uroguanylin, and the heat-stable E. coli enterotoxin. The encoded protein activates the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator. Mutations in this gene are associated with familial diarrhea (autosomal dominant) and meconium ileus (autosomal recessive). [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2016]
Gene Name: Guanylate Cyclase 2C
Chromosome: CHR12: 14765567 -14849519
Locus: 12p12.3
