GTF2E2-NARS2 Fusion FISH Probe
The GTF2E2-NARS2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GTF2E2 and NARS2 genes. The fusion of the GTF2E2 and NARS2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GTF2E2 Gene Summary
The general transcription factor IIE (TFIIE) is part of the RNA polymerase II transcription initiation complex, recruiting TFIIH and being essential for promoter clearance by RNA polymerase II. TFIIE is a heterodimer (and sometimes heterotetramer) of alpha and beta subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents the beta subunit of TFIIE. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Gene Name: General Transcription Factor IIE Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 30436030 -30515738
Locus: 8p12
NARS2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a putative member of the class II family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. These enzymes play a critical role in protein biosynthesis by charging tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. This protein is encoded by the nuclear genome but is likely to be imported to the mitochondrion where it is thought to catalyze the ligation of asparagine to tRNA molecules. Mutations in this gene have been associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 24 (COXPD24). [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2015]
Gene Name: Asparaginyl-tRNA Synthetase 2, Mitochondrial
Chromosome: CHR11: 78147006 -78285909
Locus: 11q14.1
