GSN-TRA2A Fusion FISH Probe
The GSN-TRA2A Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GSN and TRA2A genes. The fusion of the GSN and TRA2A genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GSN Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene binds to the "plus" ends of actin monomers and filaments to prevent monomer exchange. The encoded calcium-regulated protein functions in both assembly and disassembly of actin filaments. Defects in this gene are a cause of familial amyloidosis Finnish type (FAF). Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Gelsolin
Chromosome: CHR9: 124030379 -124095120
Locus: 9q33.2
TRA2A Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the transformer 2 homolog family and encodes a protein with several RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains. This phosphorylated nuclear protein binds to specific RNA sequences and plays a role in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Transformer 2 Alpha Homolog
Chromosome: CHR7: 23544400 -23571656
Locus: 7p15.3
