GRIP1-HSD17B6 Fusion FISH Probe

The GRIP1-HSD17B6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GRIP1 and HSD17B6 genes. The fusion of the GRIP1 and HSD17B6 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

HSD17B6 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene has both oxidoreductase and epimerase activities and is involved in androgen catabolism. The oxidoreductase activity can convert 3 alpha-adiol to dihydrotestosterone, while the epimerase activity can convert androsterone to epi-androsterone. Both reactions use NAD+ as the preferred cofactor. This gene is a member of the retinol dehydrogenase family. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]

Gene Name: Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 6

Chromosome: CHR12: 57157107 -57181574

Locus: 12q13.3

GRIP1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the glutamate receptor interacting protein family. The encoded scaffold protein binds to and mediates the trafficking and membrane organization of a number of transmembrane proteins. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: Glutamate Receptor Interacting Protein 1

Chromosome: CHR12: 66741210 -67072925

Locus: 12q14.3
