GOLIM4-PRDX1 Fusion FISH Probe
The GOLIM4-PRDX1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GOLIM4 and PRDX1 genes. The fusion of the GOLIM4 and PRDX1 genes has been associated with Rectum Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PRDX1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein may play an antioxidant protective role in cells, and may contribute to the antiviral activity of CD8(+) T-cells. This protein may have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Four transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
Gene Name: Peroxiredoxin 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 45976706 -45988562
Locus: 1p34.1
GOLIM4 Gene Summary
The Golgi complex plays a key role in the sorting and modification of proteins exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. The protein encoded by this gene is a type II Golgi-resident protein. It may process proteins synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and assist in the transport of protein cargo through the Golgi apparatus. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Golgi Integral Membrane Protein 4
Chromosome: CHR3: 167727653 -167813417
Locus: 3q26.2
