GOLGA4-HSPA8 Fusion FISH Probe
The GOLGA4-HSPA8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GOLGA4 and HSPA8 genes. The fusion of the GOLGA4 and HSPA8 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GOLGA4 Gene Summary
The Golgi apparatus, which participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway, consists of a series of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs). Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are thought to be important for the reorganization of the Golgi after it fragments during mitosis. This gene encodes one of the golgins, a family of proteins localized to the Golgi. This protein has been postulated to play a role in Rab6-regulated membrane-tethering events in the Golgi apparatus. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified in this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]
Gene Name: Golgin A4
Chromosome: CHR3: 37284681 -37408370
Locus: 3p22.2
HSPA8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the heat shock protein 70 family, which contains both heat-inducible and constitutively expressed members. This protein belongs to the latter group, which are also referred to as heat-shock cognate proteins. It functions as a chaperone, and binds to nascent polypeptides to facilitate correct folding. It also functions as an ATPase in the disassembly of clathrin-coated vesicles during transport of membrane components through the cell. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Heat Shock Protein Family A (Hsp70) Member 8
