GNS-RASSF3 Fusion FISH Probe
The GNS-RASSF3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GNS and RASSF3 genes. The fusion of the GNS and RASSF3 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GNS Gene Summary
The product of this gene is a lysosomal enzyme found in all cells. It is involved in the catabolism of heparin, heparan sulphate, and keratan sulphate. Deficiency of this enzyme results in the accumulation of undegraded substrate and the lysosomal storage disorder mucopolysaccharidosis type IIID (Sanfilippo D syndrome). Mucopolysaccharidosis type IIID is the least common of the four subtypes of Sanfilippo syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Glucosamine (N-acetyl)-6-sulfatase
Chromosome: CHR12: 65107221 -65153226
Locus: 12q14.3
RASSF3 Gene Summary
The RAS oncogene (MIM 190020) is mutated in nearly one-third of all human cancers. Members of the RAS superfamily are plasma membrane GTP-binding proteins that modulate intracellular signal transduction pathways. A subfamily of RAS effectors, including RASSF3, share a RAS association (RA) domain.[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2003]
Gene Name: Ras Association Domain Family Member 3
Chromosome: CHR12: 65004292 -65091347
Locus: 12q14.2
