GNB1-TSC2 Fusion FISH Probe
The GNB1-TSC2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GNB1 and TSC2 genes. The fusion of the GNB1 and TSC2 genes has been associated with Adrenocortical Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GNB1 Gene Summary
Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins), which integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins, are composed of an alpha, a beta, and a gamma subunit. These subunits are encoded by families of related genes. This gene encodes a beta subunit. Beta subunits are important regulators of alpha subunits, as well as of certain signal transduction receptors and effectors. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: G Protein Subunit Beta 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 1716724 -1822526
Locus: 1p36.33
TSC2 Gene Summary
Mutations in this gene lead to tuberous sclerosis complex. Its gene product is believed to be a tumor suppressor and is able to stimulate specific GTPases. The protein associates with hamartin in a cytosolic complex, possibly acting as a chaperone for hamartin. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: TSC Complex Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR16: 2097989 -2138713
Locus: 16p13.3
