GNAI3-GPR61 Fusion FISH Probe
The GNAI3-GPR61 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GNAI3 and GPR61 genes. The fusion of the GNAI3 and GPR61 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GNAI3 Gene Summary
Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) are involved as modulators or transducers in various transmembrane signaling pathways. G proteins are composed of 3 units: alpha, beta and gamma. This gene encodes an alpha subunit and belongs to the G-alpha family. Mutation in this gene, resulting in a gly40-to-arg substitution, is associated with auriculocondylar syndrome, and shown to affect downstream targets in the G protein-coupled endothelin receptor pathway. Gene Name: G Protein Subunit Alpha I3
Chromosome: CHR1: 110091185 -110138452
Locus: 1p13.3
GPR61 Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. G protein-coupled receptors contain 7 transmembrane domains and transduce extracellular signals through heterotrimeric G proteins. The protein encoded by this gene is most closely related to biogenic amine receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: G Protein-coupled Receptor 61
Chromosome: CHR1: 110082493 -110088455
Locus: 1p13.3
