GLRX3-SGMS1 Fusion FISH Probe
The GLRX3-SGMS1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GLRX3 and SGMS1 genes. The fusion of the GLRX3 and SGMS1 genes has been associated with Esophageal Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

This gene encodes a member of the glutaredoxin family. Glutaredoxins are oxidoreductase enzymes that reduce a variety of substrates using glutathione as a cofactor. The encoded protein binds to and modulates the function of protein kinase C theta. The encoded protein may also inhibit apoptosis and play a role in cellular growth, and the expression of this gene may be a marker for cancer.
