GLB1-INSC Fusion FISH Probe
The GLB1-INSC Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GLB1 and INSC genes. The fusion of the GLB1 and INSC genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma, and Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

GLB1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 35 family of proteins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate the mature lysosomal enzyme. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of a terminal beta-linked galactose residue from ganglioside substrates and other glycoconjugates. Mutations in this gene may result in GM1-gangliosidosis and Morquio B syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]
Gene Name: Galactosidase Beta 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 33038099 -33138694
Locus: 3p22.3
INSC Gene Summary
In Drosophila, neuroblasts divide asymmetrically into another neuroblast at the apical side and a smaller ganglion mother cell on the basal side. Cell polarization is precisely regulated by 2 apically localized multiprotein signaling complexes that are tethered by Inscuteable, which regulates their apical localization (Izaki et al., 2006 [PubMed 16458856]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: INSC, Spindle Orientation Adaptor Protein
Chromosome: CHR11: 15133969 -15268754
Locus: 11p15.2
