GBF1-UBE2R2 Fusion FISH Probe
The GBF1-UBE2R2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GBF1 and UBE2R2 genes. The fusion of the GBF1 and UBE2R2 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GBF1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Sec7 domain family. The encoded protein is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that regulates the recruitment of proteins to membranes by mediating GDP to GTP exchange. The encoded protein is localized to the Golgi apparatus and plays a role in vesicular trafficking by activating ADP ribosylation factor 1. The encoded protein has also been identified as an important host factor for viral replication. Multiple transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Name: Golgi Brefeldin A Resistant Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 104005254 -104142656
Locus: 10q24.32
UBE2R2 Gene Summary
Protein kinase CK2 is a ubiquitous and pleiotropic Ser/Thr protein kinase involved in cell growth and transformation. This gene encodes a protein similar to the E2 ubiquitin conjugating enzyme UBC3/CDC34. Studies suggest that CK2-dependent phosphorylation of this ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme functions by regulating beta-TrCP substrate recognition and induces its interaction with beta-TrCP, enhancing beta-catenin degradation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2 R2
Chromosome: CHR9: 33817181 -33920401
Locus: 9p13.3
