GBF1-NT5C2 Fusion FISH Probe
The GBF1-NT5C2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GBF1 and NT5C2 genes. The fusion of the GBF1 and NT5C2 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GBF1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Sec7 domain family. The encoded protein is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that regulates the recruitment of proteins to membranes by mediating GDP to GTP exchange. The encoded protein is localized to the Golgi apparatus and plays a role in vesicular trafficking by activating ADP ribosylation factor 1. The encoded protein has also been identified as an important host factor for viral replication. Multiple transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Name: Golgi Brefeldin A Resistant Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR10: 104005254 -104142656
Locus: 10q24.32
NT5C2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a hydrolase that serves as an important role in cellular purine metabolism by acting primarily on inosine 5'-monophosphate and other purine nucleotides. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Gene Name: 5'-nucleotidase, Cytosolic II
Chromosome: CHR10: 104845939 -104953056
Locus: 10q24.32-q24.33
