GATA4-SFTPD Fusion FISH Probe
The GATA4-SFTPD Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GATA4 and SFTPD genes. The fusion of the GATA4 and SFTPD genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

GATA4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the GATA family of zinc-finger transcription factors. Members of this family recognize the GATA motif which is present in the promoters of many genes. This protein is thought to regulate genes involved in embryogenesis and in myocardial differentiation and function, and is necessary for normal testicular development. Mutations in this gene have been associated with cardiac septal defects. Additionally, alterations in gene expression have been associated with several cancer types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]
Gene Name: GATA Binding Protein 4
Chromosome: CHR8: 11561716 -11617509
Locus: 8p23.1
SFTPD Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is part of the innate immune response, protecting the lungs against inhaled microorganisms and chemicals. The encoded protein may also be involved in surfactant metabolism. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]
Gene Name: Surfactant Protein D
Chromosome: CHR10: 81697495 -81708861
Locus: 10q22.3
