GABBR2-ANKS6 Fusion FISH Probe

The GABBR2-ANKS6 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the GABBR2 and ANKS6 genes. The fusion of the GABBR2 and ANKS6 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GABBR2 Gene Summary

The multi-pass membrane protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 3 family and GABA-B receptor subfamily. The GABA-B receptors inhibit neuronal activity through G protein-coupled second-messenger systems, which regulate the release of neurotransmitters, and the activity of ion channels and adenylyl cyclase. This receptor subunit forms an active heterodimeric complex with GABA-B receptor subunit 1, neither of which is effective on its own. Allelic variants of this gene have been associated with nicotine dependence.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]

Gene Name: Gamma-aminobutyric Acid Type B Receptor Subunit 2

Chromosome: CHR9: 101050363 -101471479

Locus: 9q22.33

ANKS6 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein containing multiple ankyrin repeats and a SAM domain. It is thought that this protein may localize to the proximal region of the primary cilium, and may play a role in renal and cardiovascular development. Mutations in this gene have been shown to cause a form of nephronophthisis (NPHP16), a chronic tubulo-interstitial nephritis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]

Gene Name: Ankyrin Repeat And Sterile Alpha Motif Domain Containing 6
