G3BP1-PCDH9 Fusion FISH Probe
The G3BP1-PCDH9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the G3BP1 and PCDH9 genes. The fusion of the G3BP1 and PCDH9 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PCDH9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the protocadherin family, and cadherin superfamily, of transmembrane proteins containing cadherin domains. These proteins mediate cell adhesion in neural tissues in the presence of calcium. The encoded protein may be involved in signaling at neuronal synaptic junctions. Sharing a characteristic with other protocadherin genes, this gene has a notably large exon that encodes multiple cadherin domains and a transmembrane region. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012]
Gene Name: Protocadherin 9
Chromosome: CHR13: 66876965 -67804468
Locus: 13q21.32
G3BP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes one of the DNA-unwinding enzymes which prefers partially unwound 3'-tailed substrates and can also unwind partial RNA/DNA and RNA/RNA duplexes in an ATP-dependent fashion. This enzyme is a member of the heterogeneous nuclear RNA-binding proteins and is also an element of the Ras signal transduction pathway. It binds specifically to the Ras-GTPase-activating protein by associating with its SH3 domain. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: G3BP Stress Granule Assembly Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 151151475 -151184915
Locus: 5q33.1
