FYN-CDK19 Fusion FISH Probe
The FYN-CDK19 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FYN and CDK19 genes. The fusion of the FYN and CDK19 genes has been associated with Sarcoma, and Uveal Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

FYN Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the protein-tyrosine kinase oncogene family. It encodes a membrane-associated tyrosine kinase that has been implicated in the control of cell growth. The protein associates with the p85 subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and interacts with the fyn-binding protein. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms exist. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: FYN Proto-oncogene, Src Family Tyrosine Kinase
Chromosome: CHR6: 111981534 -112194655
Locus: 6q21
CDK19 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that is one of the components of the Mediator co-activator complex. The Mediator complex is a multi-protein complex required for transcriptional activation by DNA binding transcription factors of genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II. The protein encoded by this gene is similar to cyclin-dependent kinase 8 which can also be a component of the Mediator complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: Cyclin Dependent Kinase 19
Chromosome: CHR6: 110931180 -111136412
Locus: 6q21
