FXR2-TARBP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The FXR2-TARBP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FXR2 and TARBP1 genes. The fusion of the FXR2 and TARBP1 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TARBP1 Gene Summary
HIV-1, the causative agent of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), contains an RNA genome that produces a chromosomally integrated DNA during the replicative cycle. Activation of HIV-1 gene expression by the transactivator Tat is dependent on an RNA regulatory element (TAR) located downstream of the transcription initiation site. This element forms a stable stem-loop structure and can be bound by either the protein encoded by this gene or by RNA polymerase II. This protein may act to disengage RNA polymerase II from TAR during transcriptional elongation. Alternatively spliced transcripts of this gene may exist, but their full-length natures have not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: TAR (HIV-1) RNA Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 234527058 -234614849
Locus: 1q42.2
FXR2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a RNA binding protein containing two KH domains and one RCG box, which is similar to FMRP and FXR1. It associates with polyribosomes, predominantly with 60S large ribosomal subunits. This encoded protein may self-associate or interact with FMRP and FXR1. It may have a role in the development of fragile X cognitive disability syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: FMR1 Autosomal Homolog 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 7494547 -7518215
Locus: 17p13.1
