FTSJ3-SCN4A Fusion FISH Probe
The FTSJ3-SCN4A Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FTSJ3 and SCN4A genes. The fusion of the FTSJ3 and SCN4A genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

SCN4A Gene Summary
Voltage-gated sodium channels are transmembrane glycoprotein complexes composed of a large alpha subunit with 24 transmembrane domains and one or more regulatory beta subunits. They are responsible for the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons and muscle. This gene encodes one member of the sodium channel alpha subunit gene family. It is expressed in skeletal muscle, and mutations in this gene have been linked to several myotonia and periodic paralysis disorders. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Sodium Voltage-gated Channel Alpha Subunit 4
Chromosome: CHR17: 62015913 -62050278
Locus: 17q23.3
FTSJ3 Gene Summary
Although the function of this gene is not known, the existence of this gene is supported by mRNA and EST data. A possible function of the encoded protein can be inferred from amino acid sequence similarity to the E.coli FtsJ protein and to a mouse protein possibly involved in embryogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: FtsJ RNA Methyltransferase Homolog 3
Chromosome: CHR17: 61896792 -61905031
Locus: 17q23.3
