FRAS1-ART3 Fusion FISH Probe
The FRAS1-ART3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FRAS1 and ART3 genes. The fusion of the FRAS1 and ART3 genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ART3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an arginine-specific ADP-ribosyltransferase. The encoded protein catalyzes a reversible reaction which modifies proteins by the addition or removal of ADP-ribose to an arginine residue to regulate the function of the modified protein. An ADP-ribosyltransferase pseudogene is located on chromosome 11. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: ADP-ribosyltransferase 3
Chromosome: CHR4: 76932336 -77033955
Locus: 4p15.1-p14
FRAS1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an extracellular matrix protein that appears to function in the regulation of epidermal-basement membrane adhesion and organogenesis during development. Mutations in this gene cause Fraser syndrome, a multisystem malformation that can include craniofacial, urogenital and respiratory system abnormalities. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: Fraser Extracellular Matrix Complex Subunit 1
Chromosome: CHR4: 78978723 -79465423
Locus: 4q21.21
