FOXP1-RUFY1 Fusion FISH Probe
The FOXP1-RUFY1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FOXP1 and RUFY1 genes. The fusion of the FOXP1 and RUFY1 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

FOXP1 Gene Summary
This gene belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. Forkhead box transcription factors play important roles in the regulation of tissue- and cell type-specific gene transcription during both development and adulthood. Forkhead box P1 protein contains both DNA-binding- and protein-protein binding-domains. This gene may act as a tumor suppressor as it is lost in several tumor types and maps to a chromosomal region (3p14.1) reported to contain a tumor suppressor gene(s). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Forkhead Box P1
Chromosome: CHR3: 71004735 -71633140
Locus: 3p13
RUFY1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that contains a RUN domain and a FYVE-type zinc finger domain. The encoded protein binds to phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate (PI3P) and plays a role in early endosomal trafficking, tethering and fusion through interactions with small GTPases including Rab4, Rab5 and Rab14. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: RUN And FYVE Domain Containing 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 178977570 -179037019
Locus: 5q35.3
