FOXN2-PLB1 Fusion FISH Probe
The FOXN2-PLB1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FOXN2 and PLB1 genes. The fusion of the FOXN2 and PLB1 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

FOXN2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a forkhead domain binding protein and may function in the transcriptional regulation of the human T-cell leukemia virus long terminal repeat. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Forkhead Box N2
Chromosome: CHR2: 48541794 -48606434
Locus: 2p16.3
PLB1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a membrane-associated phospholipase that displays lysophospholipase and phospholipase A2 activities through removal of sn-1 and sn-2 fatty acids of glycerophospholipids. In addition, it displays lipase and retinyl ester hydrolase activities. The encoded protein is highly conserved and is composed of a large, glycosylated extracellular domain composed of four tandem homologous domains, followed by a hydrophobic segment that anchors the enzyme to the membrane and a short C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. This gene has been identified as a candidate rheumatoid arthritis risk gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Name: Phospholipase B1
Chromosome: CHR2: 28718937 -28866653
Locus: 2p23.2
