FBXL3-MYCBP2 Fusion FISH Probe
The FBXL3-MYCBP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FBXL3 and MYCBP2 genes. The fusion of the FBXL3 and MYCBP2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

This gene encodes an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase and member of the PHR (Phr1/MYCBP2, highwire and RPM-1) family of proteins. The encoded protein plays a role in axon guidance and synapse formation in the developing nervous system. In mammalian cells, this protein regulates the cAMP and mTOR signaling pathways, and may additionally regulate autophagy. Reduced expression of this gene has been observed in acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients and a mutation in this gene has been identified in patients with a rare inherited vision defect. This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family which is characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs.
