FBXL20-GRB7 Fusion FISH Probe
The FBXL20-GRB7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FBXL20 and GRB7 genes. The fusion of the FBXL20 and GRB7 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Rectum Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

GRB7 Gene Summary
The product of this gene belongs to a small family of adapter proteins that are known to interact with a number of receptor tyrosine kinases and signaling molecules. This gene encodes a growth factor receptor-binding protein that interacts with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and ephrin receptors. The protein plays a role in the integrin signaling pathway and cell migration by binding with focal adhesion kinase (FAK). Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]
Gene Name: Growth Factor Receptor Bound Protein 7
Chromosome: CHR17: 37894161 -37903538
Locus: 17q12
FBXL20 Gene Summary
Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXL20, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1 (MIM 601434), cullin (see CUL1; MIM 603134), and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains (Jin et al., 2004 [PubMed 15520277]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: F-box And Leucine Rich Repeat Protein 20
Chromosome: CHR17: 37408896 -37557909
