FARSA-LYL1 Fusion FISH Probe
The FARSA-LYL1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FARSA and LYL1 genes. The fusion of the FARSA and LYL1 genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

FARSA Gene Summary
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are a class of enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. This gene encodes a product which is similar to the catalytic subunit of prokaryotic and Saccharomyces cerevisiae phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetases (PheRS). This gene product has been shown to be expressed in a tumor-selective and cell cycle stage- and differentiation-dependent manner, the first member of the tRNA synthetase gene family shown to exhibit this type of regulated expression [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Phenylalanyl-tRNA Synthetase Alpha Subunit
Chromosome: CHR19: 13033283 -13044558
Locus: 19p13.13
LYL1 Gene Summary
This gene represents a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor. The encoded protein may play roles in blood vessel maturation and hematopoeisis. A translocation between this locus and the T cell receptor beta locus (GeneID 6957) on chromosome 7 has been associated with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Gene Name: LYL1, Basic Helix-loop-helix Family Member
Chromosome: CHR19: 13209841 -13213974
Locus: 19p13.13
