FARSA-AP1G2 Fusion FISH Probe

The FARSA-AP1G2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FARSA and AP1G2 genes. The fusion of the FARSA and AP1G2 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

FARSA Gene Summary

Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are a class of enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. This gene encodes a product which is similar to the catalytic subunit of prokaryotic and Saccharomyces cerevisiae phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetases (PheRS). This gene product has been shown to be expressed in a tumor-selective and cell cycle stage- and differentiation-dependent manner, the first member of the tRNA synthetase gene family shown to exhibit this type of regulated expression [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Phenylalanyl-tRNA Synthetase Alpha Subunit

Chromosome: CHR19: 13033283 -13044558

Locus: 19p13.13

AP1G2 Gene Summary

Adaptins are important components of clathrin-coated vesicles transporting ligand-receptor complexes from the plasma membrane or from the trans-Golgi network to lysosomes. The adaptin family of proteins is composed of four classes of molecules named alpha, beta-, beta prime- and gamma- adaptins. Adaptins, together with medium and small subunits, form a heterotetrameric complex called an adaptor, whose role is to promote the formation of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles. The protein encoded by this gene is a gamma-adaptin protein and it belongs to the adaptor complexes large subunits family. This protein along with the complex is thought to function at some trafficking step in the complex pathways between the trans-Golgi network and the cell surface. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]

Gene Name: Adaptor Related Protein Complex 1 Gamma 2 Subunit
