FARP1-NME1-NME2 Fusion FISH Probe
The FARP1-NME1-NME2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FARP1 and NME1-NME2 genes. The fusion of the FARP1 and NME1-NME2 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

FARP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein containing a FERM (4.2, exrin, radixin, moesin) domain, a Dbl homology domain, and two pleckstrin homology domains. These domains are found in guanine nucleotide exchange factors and proteins that link the cytoskeleton to the cell membrane. The encoded protein functions in neurons to promote dendritic growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Gene Name: FERM, ARH/RhoGEF And Pleckstrin Domain Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR13: 98795433 -99102023
Locus: 13q32.2
NME1-NME2 Gene Summary
This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring NME1 and NME2 genes. The significance of this read-through transcription and the function of the resulting protein product have not yet been determined. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
