FAM38A-GALNS Fusion FISH Probe
The FAM38A-GALNS Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FAM38A and GALNS genes. The fusion of the FAM38A and GALNS genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma, and Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

This gene encodes N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfatase which is a lysosomal exohydrolase required for the degradation of the glycosaminoglycans, keratan sulfate, and chondroitin 6-sulfate. Sequence alterations including point, missense and nonsense mutations, as well as those that affect splicing, result in a deficiency of this enzyme.
