FAF1-EPS15 Fusion FISH Probe

The FAF1-EPS15 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the FAF1 and EPS15 genes. The fusion of the FAF1 and EPS15 genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma, and Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

EPS15 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein that is part of the EGFR pathway. The protein is present at clatherin-coated pits and is involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis of EGF. Notably, this gene is rearranged with the HRX/ALL/MLL gene in acute myelogeneous leukemias. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Gene Name: Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Pathway Substrate 15

Chromosome: CHR1: 51819934 -51984995

Locus: 1p32.3

FAF1 Gene Summary

Interaction of Fas ligand (TNFSF6) with the FAS antigen (TNFRSF6) mediates programmed cell death, also called apoptosis, in a number of organ systems. The protein encoded by this gene binds to FAS antigen and can initiate apoptosis or enhance apoptosis initiated through FAS antigen. Initiation of apoptosis by the protein encoded by this gene requires a ubiquitin-like domain but not the FAS-binding domain. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Fas Associated Factor 1

Chromosome: CHR1: 50906934 -51425936

Locus: 1p32.3
