ETNK1-MYO9B Fusion FISH Probe
The ETNK1-MYO9B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ETNK1 and MYO9B genes. The fusion of the ETNK1 and MYO9B genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

MYO9B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the myosin family of actin-based molecular motor heavy chain proteins. The protein represents an unconventional myosin; it should not be confused with the conventional non-muscle myosin-9 (MYH9). The protein has four IQ motifs located in the neck domain that bind calmodulin, which serves as a light chain. The protein complex has a single-headed structure and exhibits processive movement on actin filaments toward the minus-end. The protein also has rho-GTPase activity. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with celiac disease and ulcerative colitis susceptibility. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: Myosin IXB
Chromosome: CHR19: 17186590 -17324104
Locus: 19p13.11
ETNK1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an ethanolamine kinase, which functions in the first committed step of the phosphatidylethanolamine synthesis pathway. This cytosolic enzyme is specific for ethanolamine and exhibits negligible kinase activity on choline. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Ethanolamine Kinase 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 22778075 -22843608
Locus: 12p12.1
