ETF1-HSPA9 Fusion FISH Probe
The ETF1-HSPA9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ETF1 and HSPA9 genes. The fusion of the ETF1 and HSPA9 genes has been associated with Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ETF1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a class-1 polypeptide chain release factor. The encoded protein plays an essential role in directing termination of mRNA translation from the termination codons UAA, UAG and UGA. This protein is a component of the SURF complex which promotes degradation of prematurely terminated mRNAs via the mechanism of nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 6, 7, and X. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Gene Name: Eukaryotic Translation Termination Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 137841783 -137878932
Locus: 5q31.2
HSPA9 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the heat shock protein 70 gene family. The encoded protein is primarily localized to the mitochondria but is also found in the endoplasmic reticulum, plasma membrane and cytoplasmic vesicles. This protein is a heat-shock cognate protein. This protein plays a role in cell proliferation, stress response and maintenance of the mitochondria. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 2.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Heat Shock Protein Family A (Hsp70) Member 9
Chromosome: CHR5: 137890570 -137911318
Locus: 5q31.2
