ERLEC1-CHAC2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ERLEC1-CHAC2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ERLEC1 and CHAC2 genes. The fusion of the ERLEC1 and CHAC2 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ERLEC1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a resident endoplasmic reticulum (ER) protein that functions in N-glycan recognition. This protein is thought to be involved in ER-associated degradation via its interaction with the membrane-associated ubiquitin ligase complex. It also functions as a regulator of multiple cellular stress-response pathways in a manner that promotes metastatic cell survival. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 21. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Endoplasmic Reticulum Lectin 1
Chromosome: CHR2: 54014067 -54045956
Locus: 2p16.2
CHAC2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a gamma-glutamyl cyclotransferase that catalyzes the conversion of glutathione to 5-oxoproline and cysteinylglycine. It is thought that this gene is upregulated in response to endoplasmic reticulum stress and that the glutathione depletion enhances apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: ChaC Cation Transport Regulator Homolog 2
Chromosome: CHR2: 53994928 -54002287
Locus: 2p16.2
