ERC1-TOMM34 Fusion FISH Probe
The ERC1-TOMM34 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ERC1 and TOMM34 genes. The fusion of the ERC1 and TOMM34 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TOMM34 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the import of precursor proteins into mitochondria. The encoded protein has a chaperone-like activity, binding the mature portion of unfolded proteins and aiding their import into mitochondria. This protein, which is found in the cytoplasm and sometimes associated with the outer mitochondrial membrane, has a weak ATPase activity and contains 6 TPR repeats. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Translocase Of Outer Mitochondrial Membrane 34
Chromosome: CHR20: 43570770 -43589114
Locus: 20q13.12
ERC1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of RIM-binding proteins. RIMs are active zone proteins that regulate neurotransmitter release. This gene has been found fused to the receptor-type tyrosine kinase gene RET by gene rearrangement due to the translocation t(10;12)(q11;p13) in thyroid papillary carcinoma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]
Gene Name: ELKS/RAB6-interacting/CAST Family Member 1
Chromosome: CHR12: 1100403 -1605099
Locus: 12p13.33
