ELP2-MAPRE2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ELP2-MAPRE2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ELP2 and MAPRE2 genes. The fusion of the ELP2 and MAPRE2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

MAPRE2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene shares significant homology to the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein-binding EB1 gene family. This protein is a microtubule-associated protein that is necessary for spindle symmetry during mitosis. It is thought to play a role in the tumorigenesis of colorectal cancers and the proliferative control of normal cells. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. Gene Name: Microtubule Associated Protein RP/EB Family Member 2
Chromosome: CHR18: 32556891 -32722378
Locus: 18q12.1-q12.2
ELP2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a core subunit of the elongator complex, a histone acetyltransferase complex that associates with RNA polymerase II. In addition to histone acetylation, the encoded protein effects transcriptional elongation and may help remodel chromatin. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]
Gene Name: Elongator Acetyltransferase Complex Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR18: 33709836 -33754688
Locus: 18q12.2
