ELK4-SLC26A9 Fusion FISH Probe
The ELK4-SLC26A9 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ELK4 and SLC26A9 genes. The fusion of the ELK4 and SLC26A9 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ELK4 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the Ets family of transcription factors and of the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. Proteins of the TCF subfamily form a ternary complex by binding to the the serum response factor and the serum reponse element in the promoter of the c-fos proto-oncogene. The protein encoded by this gene is phosphorylated by the kinases, MAPK1 and MAPK8. Several transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: ELK4, ETS Transcription Factor
Chromosome: CHR1: 205577070 -205602000
Locus: 1q32.1
SLC26A9 Gene Summary
This gene is one member of a family of sulfate/anion transporter genes. Family members are well conserved in their genomic (number and size of exons) and protein (aa length among species) structures yet have markedly different tissue expression patterns. The product of this gene is a highly selective chloride ion channel regulated by WNK kinases. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding differing isoforms.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Gene Name: Solute Carrier Family 26 Member 9
Chromosome: CHR1: 205882176 -205912588
Locus: 1q32.1
