EIF2S2-ADRA1D Fusion FISH Probe
The EIF2S2-ADRA1D Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the EIF2S2 and ADRA1D genes. The fusion of the EIF2S2 and ADRA1D genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ADRA1D Gene Summary
Alpha-1-adrenergic receptors (alpha-1-ARs) are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. They activate mitogenic responses and regulate growth and proliferation of many cells. There are 3 alpha-1-AR subtypes: alpha-1A, -1B and -1D, all of which signal through the Gq/11 family of G-proteins and different subtypes show different patterns of activation. This gene encodes alpha-1D-adrenergic receptor. Similar to alpha-1B-adrenergic receptor gene, this gene comprises 2 exons and a single intron that interrupts the coding region. Gene Name: Adrenoceptor Alpha 1D
Chromosome: CHR20: 4201277 -4229659
Locus: 20p13
EIF2S2 Gene Summary
Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 (EIF-2) functions in the early steps of protein synthesis by forming a ternary complex with GTP and initiator tRNA and binding to a 40S ribosomal subunit. EIF-2 is composed of three subunits, alpha, beta, and gamma, with the protein encoded by this gene representing the beta subunit. The beta subunit catalyzes the exchange of GDP for GTP, which recycles the EIF-2 complex for another round of initiation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]
Gene Name: Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2 Subunit Beta
Chromosome: CHR20: 32676114 -32700085
Locus: 20q11.22
