EGFR-LYST Fusion FISH Probe
The EGFR-LYST Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the EGFR and LYST genes. The fusion of the EGFR and LYST genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

LYST Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that regulates intracellular protein trafficking in endosomes, and may be involved in pigmentation. Mutations in this gene are associated with Chediak-Higashi syndrome, a lysosomal storage disorder. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, though the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]
Gene Name: Lysosomal Trafficking Regulator
Chromosome: CHR1: 235824344 -236030220
Locus: 1q42.3
EGFR Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]
Gene Name: Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor
Chromosome: CHR7: 55086724 -55275031
Locus: 7p11.2
