EFNA4-FLAD1 Fusion FISH Probe

The EFNA4-FLAD1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the EFNA4 and FLAD1 genes. The fusion of the EFNA4 and FLAD1 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

EFNA4 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. The ephrins and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. This gene encodes an EFNA class ephrin. Three transcript variants that encode distinct proteins have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Ephrin A4

Chromosome: CHR1: 155036212 -155042029

Locus: 1q21.3

FLAD1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes the enzyme that catalyzes adenylation of flavin mononucleotide (FMN) to form flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) coenzyme. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Flavin Adenine Dinucleotide Synthetase 1

Chromosome: CHR1: 154955769 -154965587

Locus: 1q21.3
