DYRK2-CNTN2 Fusion FISH Probe
The DYRK2-CNTN2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the DYRK2 and CNTN2 genes. The fusion of the DYRK2 and CNTN2 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

CNTN2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the contactin family of proteins, part of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules. The encoded glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored neuronal membrane protein plays a role in the proliferation, migration, and axon guidance of neurons of the developing cerebellum. A mutation in this gene may be associated with adult myoclonic epilepsy. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: Contactin 2
Chromosome: CHR1: 205012339 -205047171
Locus: 1q32.1
DYRK2 Gene Summary
DYRK2 belongs to a family of protein kinases whose members are presumed to be involved in cellular growth and/or development. The family is defined by structural similarity of their kinase domains and their capability to autophosphorylate on tyrosine residues. DYRK2 has demonstrated tyrosine autophosphorylation and catalyzed phosphorylation of histones H3 and H2B in vitro. Two isoforms of DYRK2 have been isolated. The predominant isoform, isoform 1, lacks a 5' terminal insert. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Dual Specificity Tyrosine Phosphorylation Regulated Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR12: 68042511 -68056444
Locus: 12q15
